Morioka Hachimangu (“gu” = shrine) is a historic shrine located in Morioka City in Iwate Prefecture. Surrounded by the beautiful nature, visitors can enjoy the scenery of the four seasons. This shrine is especially crowded with worshippers during the fall foliage season.

Morioka Hachimangu Shrine was built over 300 years ago and is known for its historical background and beautiful architectural style. The deity enshrined at Morioka Hachimangu Shrine is said to have been revered by the local people as the root deity of human life, agriculture, industry, commerce, learning, clothing, and shelter.

The front door of the hall of worship is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so that anyone can visit the shrine at any time. The interior and exterior of the hall of worship are decorated with carvings of paulownia flowers which are the prefectural flower of Iwate Prefecture. Conveying the beauty of traditional Japanese architecture to the present day. In addition, the temple grounds are vast, and the old trees create a solemn atmosphere, offering peace of mind to visitors.
