Founded in 1960, this restaurant has long been a favorite of locals and tourists. This restaurant serves Morioka’s famous wanko soba as well as hot soba noodles and set menus.

Wanko soba is one of many specialties in Morioka, and one can enjoy bowls of the bite-sized buckwheat noodles until they are full. Wanko soba is said to have originated from the custom of serving freshly boiled soba to a large number of people and is said to be a local dish born of hospitality. The “jan-jan” and “sore, dak-don, dak-don” calls are often given by the servers. Followed by the buckwheat noodles being tossed into the bowls one after another. This interaction is an essential part of the experience.
