This Chouju no Mizu (Water of Longevity) is a spring located along the old Shimono Kaido, where travelers passing through the area have long stopped to quench their thirst. It is groundwater that springs from beneath Mount Takakura, and it’s cool, refreshing taste still draws many visitors from near and far, including locals.

Surrounded by beautiful mountains, the area offers scenic views throughout the four seasons, allowing visitors to be healed by the beauty of nature.
